As the International AIDS Conference is fast approaching Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) will introduce the Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic Act TODAY! You can still urge your representative to co-sponsor the bill. In a summary the Act is designed to articulate a policy and financing design to have an AIDS-Free Generation by 2015 in the U.S. and globally. The NMAC outlines the Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic Act:
1) increasing and targeting federal resources to maximize impact
2) ending stigma and discrimination that inhibit access to health services
3) repealing and reforming laws that violate human rights and limit the positive impact of resources
4) maximizing coordinating efforts to drive greater efficiency and improved results
